Morten Harket was born on September 14, 1959 in Kongsberg (Norway) and grew up with his parents and his four siblings in Asker, a suburb of Oslo. He attended his military service in Kristiansand before he started his studies in theology and worked secondarily as a male nurse in a mental institution.
Already at that time the artist and fourfold father, who is considered to be a demanding but respected person today world wide, developed to a profound personality with the will to go beyond the scope of our society. His interests in music, arts, culture, photography, botany, environmental protection and philosophy were the basis for his interesting career and a personal development, which deserves closer attention.
The formation of the overall successful band a-ha to which he has been lending his exceptional voice for almost two decades led to respect, acceptation, fame and independence.
The name Morten Harket didn’t exclusively implicate the band a-ha very long.
Besides of a trip into acting in a Norwegian film, the politically and socially very strong committed artist realised his ideas and ideals in numerous musical solo projects in Norwegian and English languages, as well.
Artists all over the world nowadays intend to collaborate with “the voice of Norway”.
